Week of February 14, 2011

Math - This is our last week learning adding and subtracting 3-digits.  Homework consists of 2 worksheets.  After our break, we will start on measurement.

Reading- Students should be reading 20 minutes each night and recording it on their February calendar.  Also, remember to notate it on their Six Flags Ticket form... they'll receive a free ticket to Six Flags for reading 360 minutes.

Science - Students have a study guide for the unit on Sun/Moon/Earth.  Each section is due at a different time.  Students will also draw a picture of the moon for each day from 2/14 - 3/14.  This will be due 3/15. They will bring their Science Book home on Monday. They'll bring home their worksheet in their homework folder, but they can return it to school in their agenda when each section is due.  We'll check their answers and they'll bring it back home to work on the next section.  #1 is due tomorrow.

Spelling - spelling words are written in their agenda in the green area next to 2/18.  Their test will be this Friday... it will only be a spelling test.  We will discuss spelling rules and write sentences in class. They still need to practice writing a friendly letter... select any 10 spelling words and use them in their letter... underline each spelling word.  Students should be practicing using a heading and a closing with their letter.
